CE Undergraduate Research Assistantships
This initiative funds undergraduate research experiences in civil engineering laboratories. The assistantship provides up to $2,000 of support for a 10 hours/week semester-long appointment as an undergraduate research assistant (URA) in a CE research lab. URAs can reapply for a second semester of support from this initiative. Up to three URA positions will be available each semester. Students who are traditionally under-represented in engineering (women and minorities) are strongly encouraged to apply. Kansas Water Environment Association Scholarship
The Kansas Water Environment Association offers scholarships to both technical school and university students. Three university scholarships ($1200, $750, and $750) are available and a fourth may also be awarded. The application form is available at KWEA scholarship website.

The Kansas Section of the American Public Works Association sponsors the Steve Webb Memorial Scholarship. Applicants must be enrolled as an undergraduate student at K-State in a curriculum which could lead to a career in Public Works. Preference will be given to civil engineering students. The applicant must be in good academic standing with respect to the requirements established by the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering. Applicant must be classified as a junior or senior for the year in which they receive the scholarship and must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester.

KS American Water Works Association Scholarship
KsAWWA is sponsoring the 'Terry L. McKanna Scholarship' in the amount of $1,000 for a student interested in pursuing a career in the waterworks industry. An application packet including criteria for selection and application forms can be obtained by contacting Lester Estelle (email@example.com)

DAAD Scholarship or Fellowship
DAAD stands for Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst, which is also known as German Academic Exchange Service. Their goal is to promote study and research in Germany, and to build international academic ties thereby. Awards of two months to multiple years are offered. Homeland Security Scholarship
To ensure a diverse and talented supply of individuals that can help the Department of Homeland Security meet its varied mission, particularly in areas related to science and technology. $9,000 plus tuition/fees each year. Also $5,000 for summer internship through DHS. Funds final two undergraduate years. GPA of 3.3 or higher. For more information, visit the homeland security website.
SMART Defense Scholarship
SMART stands for Science and Mathematics Research for Transformation. The purpose of the award is to recruit students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines to work for the Department of Defense as a civilian research scientist or engineer. All educational expenses and an allowance for books are covered as well as living stipend of $25,000 to $41,000. Summer internships in DoD labs areincluded. Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant
The grant helps support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad. Grants are awarded summer, fall or spring and are $1,000 each. For more information, visit the Phi Kappa Phi website.
