Student Organizations and Creative Inquiry Teams
There are several opportunities for civil engineering students to get involved in an organization or on a creative inquiry team.
American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)
You can become an active member or an officer of the K-State student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Elections for officers are held in the Civil Engineering Assembly at the end of each semester.
Concrete Canoe Team
This creative inquiry team involves designing, fabricating, building and racing a canoe that is fast, agile and maneuverable; all with concrete!
Steel Bridge Team
Creative inquiry on this team provides hands-on, practical experience involving real-world engineering issues that stress teamwork, innovation, safety and professionalism.
Institute of Transportation Engineers
If you are interested in transportation engineering, you may consider becoming involved with the K-State chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers.
Women in Civil Engineering (WCE)
The women of WCE strive to encourage women in the fields of science and engineering. We facilitate academic success through workshops, team-building exercises, mentoring and social events.
Chi Epsilon (XE)
If you have maintained a good GPA until your junior year, you may be invited to become a member of Chi Epsilon, the Civil Engineering Honorary.
