Gary is a co-owner of TRI-EX Petroleum, LP and an Engineering Manager for Pablo Energy II, LLC. He lives in Edmond, Oklahoma and operates oil and gas wells through-out Oklahoma and Texas.
Gary graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Kansas State University. In January 1975, he started his career in the oil and gas business in Snyder, Texas working for Texaco Incorporated. Working on a large waterflood project in West Texas gave him experience in designing production equipment, developing various methods of well completions, and managing waterflooded reservoirs. In September 1976, Gary moved to Wichita, Kansas to begin working for Texas Oil and Gas Corporation. He was involved in the drilling, completion and production operations of over 100 wells per year. He held various engineering and management positions in Kansas before moving to Denver, Colorado in 1988.
Additional experiences in Colorado, Wyoming and Utah gave him a larger knowledge base of different oil and gas wells and the experience of managing a staff associated with those operations. In 1990, Gary moved to Oklahoma City to work for Marathon Oil Company. For 10 years, he served in engineering management positions with Marathon before partnering with two associates to form TRI-EX Petroleum, LLC. With his two partners, the company owned and operated properties in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. In 2006, TRI-EX Petroleum, LP formed a partnership with Pablo Energy II, LLC. Over the last 15 years, Gary has directed the high-tech process of drilling horizontal wells and supervised the complex completion of extended laterals. He has also been involved in the successful acquisition and disposition of properties to improve the profitability of the company.
Gary is a register Professional Engineer and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He and his wife, Judy, are involved with several charities in Oklahoma City and the Kansas State University Carl Ice Scholarship program. He also serves on the Kansas State University Civil Engineering Advisory Board.
